To audevan: To be honest ...

... I didn't climb up there. I intended to, but the weather was very unstable that day and so I preferred the funicular.

By the way, with "twin shot" I was reffering to <a...

Re: your correction

Oh - I'm sorry about "killing" the birds. I hadn't expected them to be so blurred at 1/200 sec.

To Guenther: Danke

Hallo Guenther,

To Rodrigues: Thanks for the advice

Hi Joao,
thanks for your critique and your advice. I have tried combining two exposures, but since I usually don't carry a tripod with me, I hardly ever have more than one exposure. I should start...

To carmem_busko: Whites

Hi Carmem,
I agree about the light - that's what attracted me to this view. The sun was just the right angle to bring out the structure of the church walls, and the bright white was such a hard...

To castellano: Hike

Thanks for your comment, Javi! Actually, this was a fairly easy hike, although I guess it could get very hot during the summer. Most of the time, the path was slightly downhill, along a mountainside...

To dabri: Point of View

Hi Davide,
I shot this from a hiking path that comes down from a mountain behind me and only follows the forest road for a short distance. To the right, there is a beautiful waterfall, "cascada de...

To Ebbe: Composition

Thanks for your helpful comment, Ebbe! I have cropped the original shot right to the point where no sky would show, otherwise your suggestion would have been a real improvement here.

Re: To paguru: You are right...

Hi Stephane,
thanks for your reply. I used the "standard" tools Neat Image (www.neatimage.com) and Adobe Photoshop. NeatImage ("NI") is for noise removing, I simply ran your pic through it without...

Re: To paguru: Thanks !

You may be right about only a few people appreciating b&w images on TE. But you shouldn't worry about that. It takes a specal eye to shoot good b&w photos, and there is a small but excellent group of...

To KevRyan: Thanks

Hi Kev,
thanks for your workshop. Your view concentrates on just a few buildings and looks brighter altogether, as you cropped some of the dark green at the bottom. I like your frame, too.
Regards...

To langaloo: Star wars bar

Yes I remember that scene, a funny comparison! I felt a little like that indeed when I ate at Katz's. The mix of people there is really very interesting, and I was surprised how well it came out in...

Re: To paguru: Thanks for the ws

I'm glad you liked it. As always, there's a lot of personal taste in image processing, and everyone has got his own style.
I used Adobe Photoshop 7 for the workshop, which is a "high-end" tool....

Re: To paguru: This confuses me, too....

Ok, I checked again - it has nothing to do with your camera. I had the stripes on a 64k color display, they were gone on a 16M color display. So I assume they were artefacts created by the reduced...

To efimoore: Your advice

Thanks for your comment, Efi! I tried the "multiply layers" technique, it didn't help much in this image, but it's a great thing otherwise, thanks a lot.
I didn't show more of the village because...

To Igel: Blossoms

Hi Lena,
thank you very much for your kind comments!
These are not trees, but the blossoms of the agave plants. They can be huge, I think these were about 5m high. An agave blossoms only once in...

To Guenther: Küste

To TakiKO: not so small

Hi Krystian,
thanks for your comment. In fact, these plants are not so small - an agave blossom can easily be 4 or 5 meters high. It lasts one season, then the plant dies and a lot of little ones...

To beho: Nur zu

Also, mach doch ruhig, andere Blickwinkel fände ich schon interessant!
