[Normas para las notas] Notas del fotógrafo
Here is another post from deep Kasaï.
We were guided by a group of local village men to discover a few outcrops of limestone that could be suitable for making cement. These outcrops were already studied fifty years ago... but since than they have been forgotten and cement as well as lime is cruelly missing in this region. Imaging that your cement bag would have to arrive by plane from 1000km away... this is the reality in Mbjui Mayi nowadays.

Honestly I don't know how this forest looked like several decades ago... but it is evident that intense wood cutting is going on to produce charcoal This destroys the ecosystem and is clearly not sustainable in the long term. The rural Congo has an urgent need for alternative energy sources.

Hello Eric,

The white tree on the left is very interesting. It seem very dry. The view is beautiful and wild. The people add a nice element to this view as it give us an idea of size. Nice colours and light to compose the image. Nice work.

Roberto

Richly detailed landscape. Interesting variations of colour in the vegetation. The men are well placed and the red and yellow really pop out.
Serge

Eric,
