With this picture, I'd like to show you, how the lip of a Mursi woman looks like without the clay made plate. Sincerly, I'm more impressed when they don't wear the plate. Also what impressed me is that her eyes are almost completely invisible. And what about you? You can easily make a comparison, clicking on my previous photo.
On the same page you can read about the experience I had, when visiting these people and some infos about them, included the reason for practicing the lip extension or wearing the plate.
This is my last upload for a while, because I'm going to leave on next Sunday and will be back in February.
I posted this one for two reasons: 1) I promised it to Tina (tinamunk3), 2) my next destination is Africa, once again.
Take care and see you soon!

buona giornata, ciao

Szia Attila,
Wow what a portrait, I have to tell I'm of course impressed by the lip but as well by the mix of white color and the skin color that gives her a somewhat frightening aspect, nice portrait with good placement in the frame and the good DoF that helps her stand out.
Have a nice trip in Africa !

this is truely top notch stuff, attila, and the "naturalism" of this scene is so powerful...

Hello Attila
Superb stuff! The portrait is perfect & comparing the two shots definitely privides a complete picture. The colours on her face, the almost shut eyes & the bright coloured flowers cascading down her side..this is as good a portrait shot as any
Have a great trip & bring us great pictures from Africa

Hi Attila, I love this portraits of yours from Africa. I hope that you bring more photos like these from this trip. For me are both very impressive, with or without the plate, but you are right about the eyes, as if he was on drugs...Excellent details and interesting b&w version. It works well, but I still prefer this one. Tfs and enjoy the trip. I envy you...

Hi Attila,
Your photo is ending many peoples curiosity about details of lip extension when lips are naked. I’m very impressed too about effects of stretching skin and open her eyes. Her make up is simple but effective with yellow-white beads. Congratulations.
I wish you a good trip and lot, lot of beautiful frames as you did everytime. Take care.

Ciao Attila,
... Io arrivo sempre l'ultimo ;))))))
Ciao e buon weekend... e buon viaggio!

Oh thank you for showing us this photo. I find it so interesting to see different customs and rituals of people around the world.....how people use different kind of decoration on their body. I find the look of those "clay plate" people amazing and......the look without the plate is just as great.
Hope I'm not too late to wish you a fantastic trip to Africa.

Hello Attila.
It...it is just amazing the different things that are attractive to people around the world. I have enough of a hard time talking right now. It is a very cool combination of colors in this shot. Great shot and good framing.

Hello Attila,
I'm really fond of this kind of portrait and it's true that it's more impressive to see the lips(because of the huge pierced hole and the hanging lower lip)without the clay plate. I remembered well the previous post(which I kept as a fav.)which was amazing.

I m looking through your african photos and I m hardly catching my breath.
Another spectacular image, so telling and, I'm sure, so truthful! This is one of things that matters to me in photography.
About the technicals I can only say this is perfect. And also this image is peculiar because usually we saw colourful images of persons on a neutral (from the pov of colors)background. Here the person is a like a sculpture superposed over a collor-filled background, a live sculpture by all means!
I m sorry I can't express myself better,
Ioana
