Libya: Fascinating Acacus Photo

Jebel Acacus
This is one of the more fascinating and beautiful areas of Libya. The mountains of Jebel Acacus cover a vast area of Fezzan region,east of the city of Ghat and you can find there some of the world's best examples of cave art, some dating back 12,000 years. The area appears like an extensive sandstone plateau that has been eroded into hundreds of complex rock formations and wadis. Many days can be spent exploring this magnificent area. There are several waterholes in the Acacus and occasionaly it is possible to encounter Tuaregs. These people have often refused education and better housing prefering to live in this environment in their traditional manner.
This is one of the best areas for trekking in the desert and to admire magnificent rock sceneries.

Hi Atilla.

I like everything in this photo, the way you left a lot of sand in the front, the way you left enough sky at the back, jeeps on the left and fantastic rock scenery.
I am not fond of those types of frames, but I know that most people love those, so I'm gonna have to concure with them.

This is a great place. The rocks in this desert are looking beautiful. I think the rock paintings should also be beautiful.
The colors and contrast is very good here. The sharpness of the picture is excellent. Edges of the rocks are very sharp. Pleasant to see two vehicles in the scene.

Wonderful desert scape, I like the combination of rocks and sand. Overall color scheme looks very well, with the deep orange sand and the light sky. Composing the shot with the jeeps makes for a good perspective. TFS and for the interesting note too.

Il n'y a pas à dire, les couleurs sont superbes, de plus; les contrastes sont fulgurants, les lumières toutefois bien distribuées, les zones d'ombres et de soleil étant parfaitement exposées.
Grande qualité aussi pour le POV et la cadrage, on a beau chercher un défaut, c'est pas facile d'en trouver.

I like this ocean of sand! Color of sky is just opposite to color of sand in color wheel (warm blue - soft orange)! That composition makes this picture great!

Very good exposure that reslted in great colors and contrast.

The "2 colors" characteristic of the image give to it a lot of strength, and this balances with a very good composition.

Szia Attila,
for this outstanding foto I remembered the famous hungarian explorer 'Ladislaus Eduard (László Ede) Almásy - called from his beduine friends Abu Ramla - Father of the sands' who made various trips in the Sahara finding prehistoric art. I'm quite aware about the size of the Sahara, was he in that region?

A great landscape, unique, hostile and beautiful. Perfecly composed!
