The black and white ruffed lemur (Varecia variegata variegata) is one of the largest lemurs alive today. From the top of the head to the tip of the tail they can grow up to four feet long, but they only weigh eight or ten pounds. Both males and females look the same, with black and white markings and a ruff or fringe of long white fur around their ears and neck.
Black and white ruffed lemurs live in small groups. There are usually only two to five lemurs in each group.Black and white ruffed lemurs live in the eastern rainforests of Madagascar. They eat fruit and other plants. Black and white ruffed lemurs are endangered because people are cutting down their forest homes in order to grow food.

Hi Szili
This is a very powerful shot. And the gaze on the face of the lemur is so powerful. Great strength to the shot and superb contrast. You have also framed the shot quite well too. Congratulations

Hi Attila,
very interesting picture of black and white ruffed lemur. I have seen several species of lemurs on Madagascar island, but not this kind. I love lemurs. Nice shot although the sun was shining very strongly.
I wanted to put picture of other lemur today, but I finally decided to put the view of Fianarantsoa.
Regards,
Andrzej

Hi you,
cocasse et original, pleine de vie et de mouvement, un moment bien capturé, un animal qu'il ne nous est pas commun d'admirer.
Merci pour le partage.
Daniel.

Hi Szili
A wonderful photo of the Lemur and a great note to compliment it.
I am not sure if you sharpened the photo. If so it could have remained a bit softer to maintain the features on the white parts of the legs...IMO only.
The colour, the contrast, the POV - excellent.
Beautiful animal well captured.

Hello Attila,
Very nice picture of that wierd animal! I didn't have the chance to observe it there, I only saw maki catta (and that was a great moment too). I like the position of the animal and that look you managed to capture. Good colours too.
Nice job!
Quentin!
