Just for relaxing, something different from the previous upload, this time.
This is my favorite specie of lemur. I like them very much because they're mostly white with the top of the head being dark brown and the belly dark grey. The sifaka is usually seen holding onto a vertical trunk as opposed to other lemuroids which are usually quadripedal and seen on horizontal branches. It leaps from trunk to trunk but when it descends to the ground ,not too common to be seen, also moves in an unusual and unique way. It performs a skipping "dance" on their hind legs, while holding out their arms for balance.
Sifakas are plant-eaters and leaves are their favorite food,in the wet season they also eat fruits and flowers. When eating, sifakas rarely use their hands to handle their meal. Instead, they usually grab the food directly with their mouth.
Except for breeding season, sifakas live in peaceful groups. Each troop commonly has three to six individuals, usually in equal number of adult males and females and just one infant. Females are dominant to males, and generally remain with their birth group. Males, on the other hand, change groups several times during their lives.

Next time, I'm going to upload a shot to a sifaka, performing the interesting and funny "sifaka dance".

Hi Attila.
Great photo of a funny animal.
Perfect crop, branches really give way to your saying that it holds on vertical branches.
Is that a sky that is so blue at the back?
Wonderful blue, gives a lot to the picture.
take care, Aleks

Hi Attila,
A likeable image of this lemur in the tree. It has excellent colors and a great detail.
It seems that account has occurred that you were photographing to him, because it is watching to you fixedly.
Well done.

Josep

The furr of the Sifaka is shining and is looking good. The black head for which reason you like Sifaka is correct. The dark blurred background is enhancing the foreground.
Thanks for showing this special lemur.

Hi Attila
Very nice shot. These animals must be quite difficult to photograph in the sunshine with their bright white fur, but you've managed to retain detail in the fur and the animal is well framed by the branches it clings too and the beautiful blue backdrop. I've seen the way they move on the ground in wildlife documentaries on TV - so will look forward to your next post depicting this.
have a good weekend

Great framing & superb shot of this amazing animal. I really envy the blue of the sky..it's amazing. Good use of DOF to make the background blurred & look like lattice work
Great job

Bonjour mon ami Attila,
Philippe

Hi Szili
A stunning shot here with great impact. The eyes are particularly striking and the contrast gives some drama to the shot. An impressive capture.

Perfect colors, contrast and sharpness. And the pose of the lemur is expertly chosen (or found), he looks like an over-confident VIP person, used to be photographed but not liking it much, but anyway caring to look good.
Beautiful, and funny too.
TFS,
Ioana
