Taken at an ostrich farm in south Madagascar in the Berenty Private Reserve, located at about 80km west of Fort Dauphin (Toalagnaro), just north of Amboasary. The reserve is located in a section of gallery forest bordering the Mandare river. Adjacent to the gallery forest are areas of spiny forest. The reserve is famous for its lemurs, especially the ring-tailed lemur and Verreaux's sifaka.
As not a really fan of b/w photos, this is my 1st experiment in convertion in this format.

Hi Szili,
Ostriches are really curious birds and as such excellent models. Tall, beutiful and blonde too!
There's interesting connection between the girl and the bird. B&W with strong contrast works well here. I wonder what would this look like if the main focus was on the ostrich.

He,he,he. Funny one Attila. It's a pitty that you didn't get all the feet of the girl, but apart that, the capture is great and I'm really glad that you posted it. I like the b/w option, but I would love to see the colour version for comparison. Sepia and b/w are beeing used by lots of members now a days and I'm not totally conviced...
TFS,

Hi Attila
Wonderful scan quality...good choice of B&W...was at first a bit surprised to see a B&W post from you. Wonderful subjects, well captured. The light has been handled well. As Ricardo had writted, perhaps posting the original colour in the WS would have helped comparison

Not one of your strongest captures, but a strong composition. The image has a strong newspaper quality. I can totally picture myself reading an article about the Oistrich farm in Madagascar and being drawn to read because of this image.
Cheers,

Hi Attila,
Oh my dear, I didn't see that feathered guy in the thumbnail!! I cannot tell who the ostrich is looking at, but the girl is for sure looking at you! And you are most likely looking at both...
I like this kind of contrasty B&W, since her face is in the shades it really stands out!
And I have no idea why I say "she"...
Greetings,

Indeed well captured moment and funny to see her looking from behind the corner to gether with the animal long neck and its head bend like looking with you to her too.
A good turn to B&W where overexposed parts are more acceptable then in a colored version.
Very well done Szili

Hi Attila,
A likeable capture. Who sight to whom? A title very adapted.
The photo has good definition, and she is well illuminated, and with this light it was not easy. The use of the B&W is interesting in this kind of images.
Good work.

Szia Attila!

Hi Attila, I think that to the ostrich he is very bold and, safe that it is looking for something that to eat.
The composition is peculiar and pleasant and the resistances are good, reason why I congratulate to you.

Hola Szili.
Very good B&W portrait with very interesting light, her expression watching the bird is very good, there is some abnormality in her left leg tibia bone, it has an abnormal curve that looks like she had a fracture in the past. Good composition and POV.
Good work. TFS.

Well used the black and white. And also you make the photo in the right moment, wich gives to us an even tender moment between the kid and the animal.
