Photographer’s Note
Just around the corner from where we stayed in Fes was the Medersa Bou Inania. It was built in the mid 14th century and has been recently restored and is full of amazing architectural detail as seen in this photo - carved woodwork, brass, zellij (tiles).
Hand held shot at 1/30/f4 on 100 ISO - I must have had a steady hand that day.

Hello Ian
Indeed you had a steady hand. The result is full of detail and the overall effect is quite graphic. The door appears as perhaps decoration only - as it looks as though you can enter the same area without going through the door. Tfs, Marlene

Hello Ian,
You made very a good choice of composition and framing to characterize this medersa. The carved wood of superb characters, and geometrical typical decorations, are very beautiful and interesting. Your photograph is a work superb and carried out well, and an excellent document. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hi Ian, a steady hand indeed - impressive sharpness to your photo. The detail on the door is beautiful and obtained through excellent light management by your good self. I like the cropping too, a frame within a frame within a frame. TFS, Lisa.

Hi Ian, A very sharp and well coloured photograph showing a lot of details on this old doorway in Fes. It seems to be a most facinating place to visit. Good POV and well presented piece of antiquity. TFS. Murray.

Hi Ian,
This is a great example of Islamic attention to detail. The door within a door is fascinating, as is the briliant tilework behind it. Your exposure has brought out the rich colours of the wood.
