Photographer’s Note

Not far from the main mosque and medersa in Fez in the Seffarine area is a relatively quiet square where you can enjoy a drink of mint tea, eat a good pastry and watch life go by. The area around the square has a lot of brass workers and in this photo you can see a row of brass stalls. One stall owner sits there contemplating the world whilst the people of Fes wander past.

I have not been to Morocco for 35 years but I clearly remember all the brass and copper stalls. Nicely composed with the brightly clad pedestrians. So sharp. You have whetted my appetite to return. Tfs, Marlene

Good photo with nice POV and bright colors and good sharpness. However I feel this frame contains more that three-four good photos, for example the shopkeeper himself is a nice subject, then the relation between him and little boy on extreme right sharing the same expression (i found it interesting), the bright blue socks of man in orange robe is also very eye catching.

Hi Ian, from Birdsville to Morocco, could we have 2 more distinct worlds? The lively colours here, the bric-a-brac and the traditional costume of the inhabitants really bring us the essence of this amazing country. TFS (the mint tea sounds so refreshing), Lisa.

Technically this is not something from another world (the two standing up men´s backs are so close ) ... but the picture speaks by itself and has an own life opening a gate to that marvelous atmosphere in Fes ...
