That's a lovely candid and atmospheric portrait Attila - perhaps the whites are a little bleached on her breasts and the stone but it's still a nice exposure for the conditions with these odd spots of bright sunlight coming through. I like the way the figure and the vertical poles provide all these cut through shapes and I think they are enough to 'overpower' the presence of the second person in what otherwise could have been a more distracting position in the frame. I particularly like the way you have captured the beauty of her expression against the lighter colour of the door and the full and detailed range of her dress and personal and cultural adornment - but above all it is the more subtle use of colour which creates such an atmospheric feel.

As i just wrote to Francis (Furachand) it is the capture of muscle tension that so often distinguishes a good body length portrait from one that fails to attract and hold interest - here you have captured that really well...neck, back, arms, hips etc.

Hi Attila,
you shot from a large focal lenght, didn't you? it helped on that "mysterious" look.
It's well framed and I like the effects light/shade over the girl's body.

Your control of exposure is very good here. Especially her face is sooo well exposed in the filtered light and the background forms a nice contrast at that place. She really has the face of a little girl; fascinating. Her backward bending pose is interesting, was she aware of you taking this picture?

Hi Attila,

This is a beautiful portrait. It makes a strange picture because she is a Himba-girl but she could be a topmodel, the way she looks and poses. Her turned away face and expression are pointing in the same direction.
Great light on her body. The surrounding feaures like the wooden poles and the bread are great additions.

A great shot here. It wouldn't look out of place in a National Geographic publication. The girl's posture is great and looks quite natural. The effect of the light and shadow on the girl adds good impact to the shot and the composition is good. Great work.

Szia Attila!

Ez egy masik gyonyoru felvetel a himba lanyrol. Erdekelne vajon konnyu e ezeket az embereket Namibiaban lefenykepezni? Hosszabb idot toltottel e ebben a kozossegben?
Egy baratom nemreg tert haza Ghanabol es ott szinte lehetetlen volt embereket fenykepzeni, talan multbeli politikai okok miatt.
A kepeid nagyon kivancsiva tettek es szeretnek tobbet megtudni.
A fotonak a kompozicioja es megvilagitasa nekem nagyon tetszenek.
Koszi es kellemes delutant!

Szia Attila!

Ez a képed olyan, mintha a namíbiai Venus elevenedne meg Botticelli után. Egyszerű közegben fotóztad le a lányt, a tartásában és a kisugárzásában mégis van valami nemes szépség. Gyönyörű kép.
Említett szomszédunk hozzászólása meglepett (bár nem kellett volna), a történelmi valóságot elfogadom, de múltunk átköltését nemigen.

sono andato un po' a frugare nei tuoi archivi magici... lo sai gia' il mio parere su' questa, ma non potevo lasciarla cosi senza niente... secondo me, questa foto potrebbe essere tranquillamente pubblicata nella rivista National Geographic. Non e' solo che lei e' bella, ma e' proprio fantastica e magica la scena di mezz'ombra.

Az én szememben ez nem valódi néprajzi fotó. Megvan persze az az értéke is, de nekem meghatározóbb az az otthont-ételt teremtő nőiség, amit a kép sugároz. Más szóval az egzotikum fölött érvényesülő egyetemes emberi. Gratulálok!
