This ordinary morning in São Tomé e Principe, on the Equator, was witnessed in the way to "Pico de São Tomé" the highest pick in this lovely vulcanic Insland!
This season is called the "gravana" or dy season, it doesn´t rain much, but around the Rainforest the clouds get together with the breath of the earth...

Pico de São Tomé is the highest mountain in São Tomé and Príncipe at 2,024 metres. It lies just west of the centre of São Tomé Island in the Obo National Park. The second highest point, Pico Ana Chaves, lies to its south east. The mountain is forested and accessible only on foot.
The entire island of São Tomé is a massive shield volcano which rises from the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, over 3,000 m (10,000 ft) below sea level. It formed along the Cameroon line, a linear rift zone extending from Cameroon southwest into the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the lava erupted on São Tomé over the last million years has been basalt. The youngest dated rock on the island is about 100,000 years old, but numerous more recent cinder cones are found on the southeast side of the island.

Sendo a foto de 10 de junho, o dia oficial da lusofonia, não poderia deixar de passar as mesmas emoções sem as declarar na língua de Camões ;-)
Este cumum amanhecer em São Tomé, em cima do equador, foi testemunhada na subida ao Pico de são Tomé, a montanha mais alta desta encantadora ilha vulcânica!
Estamos na Gravana, estação sêca, não chove muito ;-) mas ao amanhecer as nuvens juntam-se concentrando a bafo da terra. |

Manuel,
I am glad to see you have discovered my favorite place in the world! Sao Tome is a great place to take photos, especially of the lush forest.
If I may suggest- use a filter to cut down on the haze next time. It might produce a sharper more colorful photo.
