Photographer's Note

View of the centre courtyard of Angkor Wat at sunrise. One of the most amazing temple complexes in Asia built by the Khmer, the area alternately know as The Temples of Angkor consists of a collection outlying monument’s lost in time and rediscovered again around the 18 hundreds. These temples are the pride & joy of the Cambodia people and quite rightly so.

A tip: the pocket book Angkor, Heart of an Asian Empire by New Horizons ISBN 0 500 3000542

I set of at 4? In the morning on my bike accompanied by the pitch blackness of Asia, so dark you have to experience it. For 5, 6, 7? Km my Chinese torch flickered and attempted to show me the way, senses working overtime the hairs on my body stood up, it was damned scary! Fireflies reminded me of burning cigarette tips in the distance and my breathing was uncontrolled but not due to the effort on the bike, it was black as black could be.

Choose a temple each day for sunrise and listen to the sounds of the jungle come alive, it’s something you’ll never forget.
