The coming monsoon and the pollution made Beijing’s fogy atmosphere filter to the afternoon sun.
A peck of pigeons circling at the exact route brought me to the place that for 30 minutes I took over and over again the same picture trying to cache the most banally picture of nothing but red sun and birds, using a monopod and 300mm lens.
Today this picture can be achieved using nothing but photoshop but the 40 unsuccessful exposures that I have can prove that it’s genuine one (-:

This is a unique photo, I've not seen one quite like this before. i wish there were some explination as to how you achieved it. it looks like you have taken a hazy photo of the sun and then cut out some birds and pasted on top!
Very well done

Incredible shot! This is a kind of picture you can take only once in a life. Cheers!

Wow, what an amazing shot, Yuval. The colors are a bit polluted, as you say, but the composition is magic. Very well composed and captured.

Very nice and crative, great silhouette here, thanks for sharing this simple but wonderful picture, very unique, well seen.

This has a wondeful oriental feel to it - like one of those simple but powerful paintings. My only comment is that the sun is too centred but if you had to take 40 shots to get this one...
Thanks for letting us see this beautiful picture.

Wow. Very good use of the foggy atmosphere to get such a photo. The sun with these birds are very well captured. Sharp and detailed display of the birds and the sun. I like it very much.

Beautiful composition. It almost looks like a painting. Hard to believe it is taken during the daytime. Creative and very well executed.
So what did the other 40 exposures look like? ;-)

Unlike Sayzey, I think it's a classic pix, not so original in idea, but special in realization and masterfully done, certainly very evocative. I like the dark gray tone of the background.
It's one of those pix on think having seen somewhere before, and maybe just an illustration in a kid's book, never as a shot.

The moment is perfect an the idea is very elegant. I like the shades of the sky. The composition is great as well.

Great shot. I really like your work in general, I can see that you’ve got a special sensitive sense.

I think it is well-balanced with the sun in the middle, and the colours are really unusual. Thanks!
