Photographer’s Note
Mountain view from my last summer´s hiking trip to Huangshan. For a long time didn´t quite know what to do with this photo because at the moment when I took this it was very sunny and almost midday - the worst possible conditions for landscape or almost any photography. On the other hand I liked the composition so I didn´t delete this. The I decided to try it as black-and-white and made it a bit narrower to imitate Chinese landscape paintings and also to make the vertical hight of mountains more impressive. I quite like the result.

Hi Pekka, I like this extended vertical framing. The details and contrast range is superb! Overall I like the composition reminiscent of chines landscape paintings. Have a good weekend, Alex

Hi Pekka,
Elle est superbe cette image ! D'abord le cadrage vertical qui donne une prespective intéressante à ces falaises, le contraste esthétique et de belles nuances de gris. Très beau B & W, bravo !

Great shot, Pekka. Excellent choice of format to emphasize the drama of nature (plus: it does remind me of those Chinese landscape scrolls) and good use of natural light/contrast. The bl/w conversion is really excellent. I think this is the best Huangshan picture on TE!
