A really fantastic peacefull composition.
I adore the sharpness and the reflections in textures.

Overlay and bracketing are a good alternative again HDR ;]

is it the same monk you posted on 2008-04-09?

HI Henk. Good Work , but you have to be careful with the excess of the horizon blur. Look the trees. They are sharp, but not the wall in front of him.

What a beautiful shot,I like the golden reflex in the statue,the colours from sky are great,and the statue give out this colours too.The composition is perfect,I don't find any part of the shot empty,it's really very attractive to the sight.Thanks for sharing Henk.

A lovely image from what could have been an ordinary statue,but caught is the soft sunset light with the softened misty effect fills it with a sense of mystery. It makes it memorable. regards kevin

Fantastic light and colour, and superb quality in this one. I like the glossy surfaces of the statue and the timber-work. Your HDR-type work has worked wonders in this one. I might have cropped a little off the top of the photo; the sky, though is beautiful.

What I also find amazing is the bokeh in the distance (blurred area under the sun), but sun itself still
remaining sharp...

Dag Henk,

Hoe moeilijk deze foto ook is met licht, hoe mooier hij overkomt on het standbeeld.
Het beetje zonlicht aan de horizon maakt deze foto zeer uniek.
Ook het verticaal frame zorgt voor een aparte sfeer.
Technisch zeer mooi gedaan.

Very nice. The light on the statue surely creates the idea of the sky as clothes. And the entire mood of the compo is harmony. Very nice, with very nice graduals in the sky.

Very Nice POV and excellent color. However I feel the sky is a bit too much in the photo. If u would have left space for the sky just as much as u have left below for the platform, or may be just a touch more than that, then it would have been even better.

Nice note as well.

OMG!
Change is needed!
From Tamil Nadu to the north, it opened a new sense of creativity in your works. I've not something like that before, at least in he manners of excellent light and pp work. Amazing bracketing and a supreme alternative to HDR. Nowhere is dark, and regarding the counter light, this is just great.

wow, henk. speak of technique to match the subject. the smoothness and light are amazing in this one. i'm not sure anyone could get any closer to what you are describing in your note... by the way, i could very well see this statute sitting in the very center of a squre format picture, with the same smoothness surrouding it.
