Photographer's Note

Do you ever have the feeling that you spend time reading books, or watching movies, only to think of them a few years later and not remember the most important details of them?

I have been thinking for a while of starting a blog where I track my literary and cinematographic exploits, but I still havent gotten around to it, so for the time being I will start doing that in the closest thing to a blog that I have: Trekearth.

I just finished reading a book called Q & A by Vikas Swarup. Its the story of a poor indian orphan who participates in a tv show modeled after who wants to be a millionaire and gets every question right in spite of his lack of education thus prompting the owners of the TV show to charge him with cheating.

In fact through a long list of coincidences, he knows all the questions asked because they are parallel to episodes of his life and thus he knows them by heart.

During his short life he is raised by a priest, works at a smelting plant, kills a man protecting his daughter from him, works as the houseboy to both a bollywood actress and then an australian spy, becomes a guide in the Taj Majal, falls in love with a prostitute, among other adventures. I just finished reading it and definetly recomend it.

About the picture, this kid was waiting for the bus to leave at a small village on the road between Makassar and Rantepao in Sulawesi island. Maybe the hero of the book looked like this.
