Nothing stuning on the picture side I know, I just wanted to share the experience. We have finally found places in Thailand which are not invaded by package tours. It was a great opportunity to see once how an opium field looks like.

A few years ago, the drug war has started in Thailand, the prime minister wanted to get rid of it. Addicted people could get cured free of charge. However there are tribes and people for which it is more than simply a drug, it is a pain reliever sometimes in the tribes (where medicine is expensive and hard to get) or this is simply something coming from their customs. People here are affaid that the drug business will start again after the coup, we'll see...

Of course, if you take it on a regular basis like the guy who spent most of his time laying behind the stone in the background, it is not a custom...

amicalement

How can a fragile flower like poppies produce such a powerful drug. Take it very carefully Yan! ;) Don't get seduced by that deep red... Love the inclusion of that purple guy. It wouldn't be yours without it, would it?

Hi Yan!
I like it.Very good composition with "farmer" in background.
Cuts on poppys head tells all.

hello Yan
dis tu penses aux copains :D ? ...

Ah great shot Yan, you've been to a place that many people haven't, and perhaps some people would kill to be at. Good documentary shot.
