The shot was taken while sitting in a tuk-tuk during a mad race in the huge traffic of Bangkok. It was another great experience both for the incredible race and the behaviour of the driver. He picked up us near the royal complex, telling that will show us a lot of interesting and by other tourists, not often visited sights, for very "little" money. And the price agreed was really "little".
So, first we ran to the first sight but the second stop was directly a jeweller's shop, where he invited me to go in, because there were big discounts only that day. I thanked him and told that I'm not interested in buying since just disembarked and have not many time to visit the city before taking a connecting flight.
For ten miutes, he insistently invited me to enter and have only a look at the shop. Since we were in the suburbs of BKK, there were no other tuk-tuks or taxis in the nearby to stop, so I decided to enter. Apart the sellers the shop was completely empty, so I said hello to everybody there and went out. I spent in, not more than a half minute and told to the driver that as he wished I had a look at and now, as promised he has to move to the next sight. He was visibly very disappointed because I didn't buy something in the shop but moved to the next stop. And while we visited the site, without saying anything and without being paid he left us there. Since didn't have a map of the city and with no idea of where I was in that moment, I looked for another tuk-tuk to take me to the royal palace, but every of them told me that they will take me first to a shop with big discounts only for that day!! Obviously, I understood that they're highly interested only in the commissions they get from the shops and not really for the transport fee. Finally, after nearly a one hour walk I stopped and found one who took me where I wanted.
I have to tell that also the taxi driver, who picked me up in the airport, left me at nearly 2 kms from the agreed destination...
So keep in mind these small (dis)adventures, could happen when visiting this city.
Here is the link for some infos about this funny means of transport.
Since I was not convinced which version to upload, I posted also a b&w in the WS.

Hi Attila,
Hahaha, these guys are famous... The shot gives the speed impression as well as a strong perspective. I think I see some knees on the right... ;D I seldom use tuk tuks, but if i have my camera, i always try and take some pics... i deleted 99% of those!

Hej Attila,
What a story about the tuk-tuks! But you got a great photo of it. I really like the motion blur to show the speed. Very successful. I like this colour version more than the B&W in the WS. Very nice picture, thanks for sharing!

Ciao Attila,

Hello Attila,
This type of vehicle is funny. It's inside and the ornaments there are shows how important for the owner.
Your shot is excellent as every time. I like its dominant tones and panning with your notes.
I'm remembering this type of vehicles (three wheel) from my childhood but never saw really any more till few days a go here. One of investor already brought Italian brand of them to Paramaribo.

Hi Attila,
Nice work here. Very smart idea to present this photo. The story is very good (too bad for you). I learnt those lessons too. While in BKK I prefer to use taxi or BTS, or those boats along the channels... or walk.

Ciao Attila

Hi Attila excellent shot with slow motion choice! It is a picture, that I like too much, because I outside see the movement, that is big, through from the argon tahj. Good thought good imprinting and impressive note. Interesting reception! I praise

Hello Attila,
I couldn't resist a smile while reading your note, this is such a story and I think we could others around those stops. Some years I went to Brasil and I had a taxi driver waiting for me and my freinds for more than 2 and half hours, why because that service was already guaranteed and he didn't know if he returned to the base if he would do anything else in the rest of the afternoon, so you see that curious stories we can find them all around the world.
About this photo I like the furious speed look the photo shows us, just as if this tuk-tuk was flying by the road.
It's a very curious photo and story around it.
Cheers.

Well done. Best wishes.

Hi Attila,
One can really get a sense of the speed here, and I know that these drivers can be crazy. The wide angle gives a good idea of whats happening on either side and the interior of the tuk-tuk. I like both the black and white and the colour versions as they each give a different feeling to the shot.

Hello Attila,
Nice composition and at the same time an experience about these well known means of transport. The scene of the speed is diffused in the whole shot. The blur environment, create this sense of the speed.Informative your note too,as the link for tuk-tuk.

Hello atus
A different shot from you! You were unlucky with you drivers ;)
I can almost hear the sound of the tuk tuk, feel the shake and breathe the polluted atmosphere of BKK! The sense of speed is well conveyed in a nice perspective and the colors are well saturated.

Hi Attila,
I smiled while reading your story, so common in that part of the World. It happened to me for the first time exactly in Bangkok and then half a dozen times in India (there they call it rickshaws and they are much less 'hitec' than the Thai tuk-tuks).
You captured well the thrill of riding those machines! One really feels like speeding, with our nostrils wide opened to the exotic and unique smells of the big Asian metropolis (gasoline smoke, burnt motor oil, etc.).
It's reasonably sharp and presents very nice colours for a scan.
TFS, Regards, José.

Szia Attila !
Köszönöm a megtisztelést is egyben, remélem rászolgálok !

Remekül érezni a vad száguldást a nagy kalandokba.

Szia Attila!
Nekem jobban tetszik a F/F változat, talán a jól eltalált kontraszt miatt, de ebben a változatban sincs semmi kivetnivaló.
A képben a legjobb a sebesség okozta bemozdulás, amit a kis jármű belseje (pontosabban a teteje) tovább fokoz.
Marci

This one is not perfect by today's standards, but I like the idea a lot for its dynamism and you for sure deserve kudos for having achieved this at a time where you had no LCD to examine the result just after shooting, excellent !

Szia megegyszer!
Epp olyan, mintha en is ott ulnek ezen a kis jarmuvon.

Hello Attila,
I just love this. What a great sense of speed, of exoticism you achieved, it feels like sitting there behind this not-so-nice driver. Difficult to choose which one: here I like the mix of colors. The b/w is punchier, the sense of speed greater, I think I'd choose that one for that. Very good job and very good story. Thank you.
