A simple view of a street in Antigua, many people told me that it was a beautiful city, however, to me it looked more like a ghetto for white people looking for a little bit of exotism... The atmosphere was kind of weird, policemen all around the city with guns (to make sure that the white people stay safe), american teens drunk at night... This is not the first time that I am disappointed with a UNESCO protected town...

Hi Yan, great photo. The yellow wall is a wonderful backdrop for the two figures, and I like the sharpness with which you've captured them - he striding away purposefully and she seemingly standing there fearfully. There's real drama in this scene. Great stuff!

Hi Yan
Exotic and dangerous - I guess that's global opinion of all latin and central american countries. But I'm very attracted to this continent. I would love to get to know those villages as much as big cities and beautiful beaches. This scene you captured is very interesting to me. You could've rotate it a bit, but it's ok this way too. I like the dominance of the yellow and how you captured this alpha male walking in front of his woman hehehe joke
Cheers

Hi Yan,
Great composition, fantastic elements and colours and definition.
Lovely moment.
Best Regards,

yan

it is a marvelous image, I liked the people walking with the window nicely put. The old architecture is beatiful too. Good light and colors. Sometimes the place looks worst when we aren't so nice. Sometimes we are surpriesed with places that are considerated like ugly places and opposite it true too

hugs

Sobre, chaud, quasi cinématographique. Une composition qui me plaît beaucoup.

Hola Yan,
Me gusta mucho esta foto por la calidez de su luz y colores, su cuidada composición y la fuerza de la presencia humana. Excelentes contrastes y gran manejo de la luz. Soberbia.

Hi Yan,
Superb color and light here. This street scene is quite successful, congrats!

Hi Yan, interesting note and comment about this image
For you is a simple image...but it is well taken and with a very good light
i like a lot the detail of the woman on the right side, important detail for the compo
ciao
Valeria

Yan: a flat but powerful image. It would seem you waited here for some time - a good strategy this photo-shy part of the world. best, c

hello Yan,

You were in ANtigua ??? I visited it many years ago but didn't really felt safe , they warned us when we go out of the city to take care for robbery even from policemen. I liked the city because of its looks but apparently it changed a lot !!! ANyway, your photo is without any gringo and it's a lovely shot, rich colours and a minimalistic-touch compo. I like it very much !!! Did you do a tour through Guatemala ?
many greetings, inn

Hi Yan,

Disappointed with Antigua? Yeah, with the white people - and especially drunk teens at night. But the town itself is wonderful! A downside is that the Unesco list these days is almost a travel list. A pity.

But still a nice town!!!

Greetings, Dennis

Guatemala... I like the textures on that strong yellow wall. It reminds me Portugal a lot. I like the way you painted this scene. The blacks, the little blue section, the life passing by. But my favorite section is the corner and the silhouete that goes away in the right. There is something mysterious about that corner...

Hi Yan,

I really like this shot. Nice colours and light and the wall is a great background.Well done. I agree with your comments on Antigua. I was there six months ago and was a little disappointed. Lots of foreigners and plenty of police walking around with guns.

Regards Simon

A great catch. The man with his macho looks, she much more subdued. The light is wondrous on that warm yellow wall, so palpable. I love the sense of immobility one gets here, of strangeness, despite the two subjects on the move. Also the shadows here and there are providing for mood and depth. The street sign -doble via - is an interesting tiny detail.

Most interesting also what you write, I have never been to SA, but would like to some day. Lots of mood, intriguing atmosphere.
Well done !

Best regards
Michèle
