Photographer’s Note
This church is almost directly across from the Arcotel Nike where we stayed. This was taken from the sixth floor of our hotel in the early morning hours and overcast sky. There is also a new reconstrcted railway from the valley to this berg.
Some brief history, The religious history of the place started in 1716 when a man called Franz Obermayr put up a Pietà on the weather cross which was standing on the top of the hill. Already in 1720 pilgrims started to climb the hill and a wooden chapel was built. In 1742 the erection of the Pöstlingberg church started and opened 6 years later.
It is a great place to take pictures of the city of Linz and the Danube River.

Superbe reaction Roger. Il me semble que le crop qui aurait evite les batiments au premier plan, aurait donne la charmante eglise dans le ciel. Tres belle experience, cher ami!

Hi Roger,
Wow! what a contrast between the modern highrise and the lovely castle on the mountaintop.
You took full advantage of this mist and fog to add a delightful bit of mystery.
Love the misty views of teh old village and green mountain meadow.
Regards, Tom
