Dubrovnik is on UNESCO-s List of Cultural Heritage.
This ancient town, surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure of architectural and cultural masterpieces, very well preserved over the centuries.
It was founded by a group of refugees from Epidaurum in the 7th century. They established their settlement at the island and named it Laus. Opposite of this location, at the foot of surrounding mountain, Slavs developed their own settlement under the name of Dubrovnik, named after "dub" a type of oak wood. The settlements were separated by a channel which was filled in 12th century, and since than the two settlements have been united.
Today Dubrovnik is probably the main cultural and architectural attraction on Adriatic and is visited by herds of tourists taking part of boat cruises. I visited it in winter-time in a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
No manipulation with the light which is the original and impressive "Adriatic winter-blue".

Hi Atila.
Great choice to put palm trees in the foreground.
I like how the image is blue overall, it's the Adriatic that is blue, no error in colour managing :))
And yes, this is a pearl among many other pearls in the Adriatic.
take care, Aleks

HI Attila,
A very different view of this very known cityand a very strong one. The framing with the palms and the boats in front is excellent, the blue but somber light makes it very special.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

Servus Attila,
perfect view on parts of this amazing, historical site. I wintered 86/87 in Dubrovnik marina; strolling in the old town and have a walk on the walls is an absolute must! Thanks for refreshing my memories!
Well framed by the palm tree, you caught a special atmosphere here!

Hi Attila,
Again a very nice shot. Original view of that city I visited several times. Evreything is included here, the harbour, Mediterranean vegetation, the wonderful Adriatic sea, the city walls and the nice red roofs. Sharpness and colours are great and composition is a success.
Well done!

Hallo Attila!
What a "blue" photo with an amazing atmosphere of calm and peace! The town sems to be deserted, the only human being obviously was a hungarian photographer... ;-) (Technically there's nothing to criticize). What more should I say. I like it very much! I wish you a nice weekend!

Hi Attila,
I've never been in this city, but I've heard so many nice things about it...
This POV is excellent and shows us quite an attractive view over the marina and fortified anciant town in the back. The lighting and blue colours are marvellous and I'm glad that there was no manipulation of it in here. It's a wonderful image!

Ciao Attila!!
Ciao e buona domenica!!

Jó napot Attila,
here the mother nature gave you some help, with this wonderful background sky colors, as well as a curtain of rain towards the island of Lokrum.
However, I think that the picture has the "filtered" look - or you must have found some other way to eliminate the noise completely, while at the same time preserving excellent sharpness and level of detail...
Anyway, beautiful shot!
