Povlja, with a population of nearly 400 inhabitants is a village located at the north-eastern part of the island of Brac (Central Dalmatia), in a cove bearing the same name. Local economy is based mainly on tourism. Other activities are fishing, farming, growing olives and grapes. Povlja is surrounded by several coves with nice beaches.

My first intention was to crop the upper part in order to eliminate the coastline, but I decided to leave it to have an idea about the distance between the island and the continent.

There's a ferry service from Split (it takes 50 minutes) and Makarska to reach the island.

Hi Attila,
I like the point of view here, resulting in the beautiful village effectively framed by the surrounding forest!
Superb lighting gives good colours and fine details, my only suggestion is try a crop of 2 cm in top, as it probably will result in better focus on the village!

Hi Attila,
A precious landscape taken from a good POV from above. It shows to a very clean image with great depth and perspective to us.
The village in the island is fantastic, very pretty and pleasant, and I like that you have left the sea that separates the island of the continent. Thus we can see the coastline in background, distant, but that it gives references us of the distances, and the boat that furrows those waters.

A fine wide-angle view of this Croatian village, Attila, showcasing its scenic seaside location at the very best. Nice timing to have the streak of light accentuate the bright and colorful buildings, and good to have the boat passing in the background. Beautiful shot.

Very nice composition, Attila. Certainly shows why this place appeals to the tourist trade, the pretty white buildings look immaculately kept, nestling between the pine clad hills and the shoreline. The air here must be very fresh and clear. Nice exposure in challenging lighting conditions, with the dark green of the pines and the shining white of the walls under the bright sun.

I like to see these white houses in the middle of the green surroundings. The V-shaped hills are a great foreground for this view and I'm glad you didn't crop the upper part. The light is also very nice. Good work!

I've never been to croatia, but have seen a lot of beautiful pictures from there, and probably have to go one day.

What a view! Superb DOF helps us to view & understand the setting better. The contrast between the blue waters & the red roofed houses is wonderful & the island as it juts out in a V-shape towards the left with the small cove in the FG. Excellent photo!
