The picture was taken at the Olde Hansa restaurant in the Old Town. It was opened in 1997 and is one of the most renowned in Tallinn and serves medieval dishes in the same atmosphere. For more and detailed informations here is the link to the restaurant site.

Zdravo Attila. A very charming atmosphere for a number of reasons. Firstly, for the animated young lady who seems genuinely interested in the dialogue. secondly, because of the contrast in the appearance of the two, she in costume, he in contemporary clothing.thirdly, the light and ambiance, which are rich and evocative. brilliant work Attila.Reminds me of the old Masters and their chiaroscuro techniques.Regards. This one obviously smells Vermeer!
I love this photo, as i love Vermeer's paintings.

Manca solo una corona d'aglio al collo dell'ignaro turista e poi... zacchette...che salta fuori il Conte Dracula ad azzannare la vittima! vabbè...eri in Estonia e non in Transilvania...ma l'atmosfera è molto simile!

Ciao Attila!! che foto strana!! Sono d'accordo con Deniz che l'atmosfera fa pensare a Vermeer, ma a me ricorda anche quella di madame Tussaud. A proposito, la hai vista la mostra a Villa Manin?

Qui poi vedo il cliente che mi sembra Woody Allen circuito dalla cariera-attrice in costume.

...insomma, è un luogo da visitare!! Così starno!
Foto fantastica, di nuovo. Non credo che avevi il cavalletto, quindi racconta dove hai appoggiato la macchina.

Bello, un ristorante tipico ben mantenuto e con i camerieri in costume, aggiungi la musica e i cibi tipici e fai davvero un salto indietro nel tempo, bel posto Attila, manca una foto del bagno, che se citato deve essere sorprendente in qualche modo.
La foto è ottima e mantiene l'atmosfera del locale come la vuoi trasmettere, bene e bravo, complimenti.

Lovely glowing colours and atmosphere The dark shadows bring the figures into relief beautifully. Very Vermeer certainly - but we don't get a note about the toilets when we look at a Vermeer painting, which is a pity!

Hello Attila,
Wondeful capture, esp. the candid conversation between the waitress and the customer. Your composition relays a cozy feeling. I particularly like the position of the candle in the lower right corner. The WB is a bit warm for my taste but I have to admit it accentuates the coziness of the place. Regards,

It's a difficult shot with this scarce candle light but you've held it perfectly. The colours and the atmosphere have something in common with Rembrandt pictures.

You say opened 1997 ? Strangely the place does not look unknown to me but last time I went to Tallinn was before or just in 1997, it is possible that I've been eating there !
This low light scene is superb and just look like an old painting, just more vivid, I like it a lot !

Hi Attila,
A fascinating scene, with the older fellow somewhat mesmerized by the waitress in her colourful costume. I like the POV, with the tables with candles angling into the frame, with good resulting depth. The exposure level is just right. I like this shot very much.

Really nice to be attended by a figure dressed with those medieval costumes, and surrounded by the typical decoration.
The low and intimist light creates even more atmosphere along with the candle's light.

I thought this place is a romantic resto with the candles and the gloomy athmosphere.
I can't imagine what's in the toilette, Attila, an old style toilette or an artistic style, it's really make me curious...

Nagyon jo kompozicio, szeretem a gyertyak fenyeit; melegseget arasztanak es hat tetszik maga a hely is. (Valoszinu, hogy a kozeljovoben nem fogok eljutni Tallinba,de kivancsi termeszetem reven erdekelne, hogy mi az a figyelem felkelto dolog ott a toiletteben. :)

Hű de jó fotó! Látványosan reprezentálja az időutazást, amire a látogató Tallinn városában számíthat. A képkivágás és az időzítés kitűnő, a részletek önmagukért beszélnek. A fényviszonyokat remekül kezelted, ismét egy ragyogó kép!
Igazság szerint, feleségemmel 2005-ös baltikumi utazásunk óta vágyakozunk vissza Tallinnba, annyira jól éreztük magunkat. Amikor már kívülről ismertük a város összes sikátorát és terét, még akkor sem tudtunk elszakadni a várostól, csak üldögéltünk és bámészkodtunk naphosszat (többek között ezért nem láttuk Narvát, ami eredetileg kötött úticélunk volt). Tallinn tényleg fantasztikus hely, ráadásul, aki eljut ide, az megnézheti Helsinkit is - a hajóút csak másfél óra.

Wonderful handling of indoor candle light. The atmosphere is so well captured! This seems to be straight out a Vermeer painting..the dress, the play of light, the semi darkness. Your WS is also a gem...loved going through the presentation!

Yes! The image is totally a trip back in time to time where there were no cameras or electricity. The atmosphere and light are gorgeous. Hope the food was as good as the place decorations. Cheers,

Nagyon elbűvölő kép! A gyertyafény fokozza a rejtelmességet és a középkori hangulatot. Az is nagyon tetszik, hogy egy kis momentumot is bemutat a fogadó életéből. A színek is remekek!
(Szerintem - sajnos - egyhamar nem jutok el ide, de nagyon furdal a kíváncsiság, hogy milyen lehet a "mosdó", elárulnád? ;D)
