Photographer’s Note

Following the trip to Normandy, Honfleur here late in the day, here is a view of the old basin.

Honfleur is a common port Normandy (Calvados) located on the south bank of the Seine estuary, opposite Le Havre, near the mouth of the Normandy bridge. Its 8 177 inhabitants are Honfleur.

She is best known for its picturesque old port, characterized by houses with facades covered with slate, and have often been represented by artists including Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Barthold Jongkind, forming the School of Honfleur which contributed to the emergence of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a tower separate from the main building, is the largest wooden church in France.

The town is ranked four flowers in the competition of cities and villages in bloom.

Effectivement, une jolie carte postale de Honfleur en arrière-saison. Le ciel est un peu surexposé à droite mais autrement la photo est très réussie. J'aime partuclièrement les eflets des maisons dan l'eau du bassin.

C'est un sujet classique , mais ici , remarquablement traité . Les reflets sont admirables , tout comme la gestion de cette lumière faiblissant .

Carte postale oui mais de qualité très supérieure avec plus d'un intéret, l'angle de prise, le reflet, la lumière, la netteté.
De toutes les très nombreuses photos de Honfleur, sans doute une des meilleures.

this is indeed a picturesque port.
first off, the reflections on the water are outstanding - capturing all the pastell colours vividly.
The masts of the boasts create height and occupy the otherwise empty skyline.

PS: Au fait , je suppose que tu es content de ton Sigma 12-24 ? Je te pose la question car je lorgne sur le Nikon D700 ou son remplaçant ( en tout cas " full-frame" ) sur lequel je pense mettre une optique grand-angle .Cette optique pourrait faire l'affaire , je pense .
Cela dit , je prend tout mon temps à la réflexion .

The buildings in the background make a wonderful combination with all these different blue colours (from the sky and the water). The calmness of the water makes it practically a mirror and the result is these wonderful reflections

Pour etre une acarte posatale, Yves, c'est une carte postale. Des lumières bien retravaillée sen post processing avec peut-être une tendance bleutée pour les blancs, à moins que ce soit mon écran qui soit mal réglé.
Un excellent cadrage qui donne pas mal d profondeur.

toi aussi coté reflets c'est pas mal non plus, un port que j'ai visité et qui m'a vraiment plu par son coté authentique, un POV bien choisi avec cette vision qui s'ouvre entre les bateaux
