Tucked in the hollow of his valley, the sénanque abbey remains as one of the purest witnessed the early Cistercian architecture. It is still inhabited by a community of Cistercian monks.

Specifically, this is the testimony of men brought together by Christ's call to follow him more closely, which gives meaning to this religious building.
The siting of a monastery, its architecture, its style reminds all visitors the purpose of such a group of buildings "be a school of the Lord's service."
