Nautic action painting

In the fishery harbour of Naxos I saw this giant tractor tire that's used as a shock absorber for the mooring and moored larger fishing vessels. As an admirer of the work of Willem de Kooning, I immediately thought that I encountered a 'forgotten work' of his. But there just might be another explanation, of course ;-)
Willem de Kooning is known as an ‘abstract expressionist’ painter – a term he personally didn’t approve of because he found it pleonastic – and he got a point here. De Kooning has been also loosely associated with 'action painting' because of the likeness of some of his work to that of action painter Jackson Pollock.

A more conventional 'bumper' in Pireaus harbour, shot 8 years ago is: here

The soundtrack: John Cage - Seven Haiku This piece was dedicated to Willem de Kooning (amongst others).

The start of the second Cycladic trptych which probably will be a bit more graphic then the first one.
