Skiathos (Greek: Σκιάθος), Latin forms: Sciathos and Sciathus is a small island in the Aegean Sea belonging to Greece. Near Skopelos, it consists of the main town (also called Skiathos) and the communities of Koukounaries, Kanapitsa, Vromolimnos and Troulos. Skiathos is the westernmost island in the Northern Sporades group of islands. The mainland of Greece and Magnesia are to the west. The name of the island dates back to ancient times.

The island of Skiathos has 70 beaches all around it. Skiathos Town port ferry services connect to Skopelos, Volos, Agios Konstantinos and the rest of Greece.

The Municipality of Skíathos includes the islands of Tsougria and Tsougriaki, and of the islets of Maragos, Arkos, Troulonisi and Aspronisi. The islands total land area consists of 49.898 km². Its largest towns are Skíathos (pop. 4,988 in 2001), Χánemos (195), Kalývia (179), Troúllos (159), and Koukounariés (126).

Skiathos (greco: Σκιάθος) è un'isola della Grecia che, insieme ad Alonissos e a Skopelos, fa parte dell'arcipelago delle Sporadi.

Isola dell’Arcipelago delle Sporadi è un autentico paradiso naturalistico grazie soprattutto alle vaste pinete, alle numerose baie e calette, alle spiagge di sabbia dorata, al mare cristallino e ai fitti boschi di platani. Skiathos-città, capoluogo dell’isola, edificato nel 1830 sopra due colline, è divenuto oggi uno dei centri di maggiore attrazione turistica di tutta la Grecia. Skiathos è caratterizzata da un clima mediterraneo con estati calde e secche ed inverni miti e piovosi; le temperature durante l’inverno scendono fino ai 2°-3°mentre nel periodo estivo arrivano fino ai 38°-40°; nella parte nord orientale la regione subisce l’influenza del clima continentale.

It is a very nice shot with good light and colours. May be it is a bit soft (sharpness) but yet very nice summer view. Well done.

Πολύ όμορφη σκηνή και στιγμή, ωραία καλοκαιρινή αίσθηση, ωραίο κάδρο και σύνθεση, υπέροχα χρώματα! Το μόνο που της λείπει είναι λίγη οξύτητα παραπάνω. Συγχαρητήρια!

Hello Costantino!
I keep on missing a bit more of sharpness!
In spite of that fact though, I like the composition, the colors and the management of light! Thus, the picture is pretty attractive and beautiful!

Ήρθε ο καιρός να πάμε διακοπές και να γυρίσουμε με πολλές ευχάριστες αναμνήσεις. Οι φωτογραφίες είναι το καλύτερο μέσο για αυτές όπως και η όμορφη αυτή σύνθεσή σου από τη Σκιάθο. Από τη Δευτέρα θα είμαι στη Νάξο, θα τα πούμε με πολλές φωτογραφίες μόλις επιστρέψω.

un altra bella immagine estiva, molto bella la scena di queste due bambine che guardano l'isola. credo però che ci sia una mancanza di sharp.

non mi ripeto sulla mancanza di sharp, la composizione è bellissima, bella la barca sulla destra e le ragazze a sinistra, e lo splendido paesaggio alle loro spalle.

Bonjour Constantino,
Une belle composition, très équilibrée avec ces personnes regardant la mer. J'aime cette scène de bord de mer. Un petit bémol concernant la netteté qui me semble perfectible.
