Photographer’s Note

... after few wet days ... the first ray of light at the end of the day ... near 20h ... we came back to our house after a big working day to install GPS stations in northern moutains (between Akureyri and Husavik) ... the light was awesome, one of the more gorgeous i've ever seen ... 20mn of beauty.

Wonderful. The light really is fantastic. It looks dark but somehow not oppressive. I'd really like to visit Iceland.

Excellent shot, an ominous sky, and the low sun making dark shadows in the ditch. Excellent contrast between grey sky and green land.

Wow, it looks like very heavy storm is coming. Everything here is just in the right place, the road, the little red building, and of course these bautyfull mountains and fearsome clouds.

Quand ça arrive mieux vaut avoir son appareil chéri sur soi !
Certe la lumière est splendide mais la compo n'est pas en reste.

Antoine, what can I say - wonderful image! The perspective of the road disappearing into the distance is excellent, then that great dark sky tops it off. The buildings give a sense of scale and distance. Well done!

Hi Antoine. Beautiful capture here, with such lovely colors. Such a contrast between the dark clouds looming overhead. I do like the straight parallel lines leading back to the hill in the distance. Good job.

Hi Antoine,
This is a very impressive capture. I like it very much.
The boarder between the ground and the sky is very sharp here. Did you use any post-processing of the scanned slide or is it just due to the gradient filter.
I have a Cokin P 121 (Graduated ND) filter, but it does not give such a stron effect.
Fantastic light you have had that day. The dark sky gives the impression of some dramatic occurance was going to happen. I can almost hear the drums.
My only suggestion would be to place the end of the road (where it meets the horizon) in the upper right strong point of the picture.
Well done, I'm impressed.
Definitely a favourite one.

Great photo - I especially like the dark sky and the hard contrasts. Well done!
But what about the broad frame? Does this picture really need such a frame? If you like it that way, it´s ok, but for the spectator it could be too much frame and too little of the picture.
All in all a well done job.
