Photographer's Note

A late afternoon view down the Grand Canal in Venice with the Santa Maria Della Salute Cathedral in the bg at right. During the Black Plague in the 17th century (1630 / 1631 AD) which killed 1/3 of the population, the people promised to God in their prayers for salvation, to build a cathedral if they survived. They did, and kept their promise.
