The medieval town of Marostica is located in the foothills, just a half hour's drive from Vicenza. Surrounded by the ancient walls of its castles, Marostica is best known for its square which is a giant chessboard. Every second Friday, Saturday and Sunday of September of every even numbered year, a human chess game is played in full medieval costume on the square of Marostica. The story of the Chess Game dates back to 1454 when Marostica belonged to the Venetian Republic.

A verry well composed photo with this wonderful red tree as foreground.There is a great depth with the nice zic zac at the stairs and the three towers in a row.Good color contrast and sharpness.A great shot.

Hi Attila,

Castles, located at different level and zigzag walls adds very good depth to your photo. Tree with red foliages completes a good feeling climbing to the sky. Your frame remembered me same tower and walls in Bosporus, except their shape is rounded. Clear, sharp view. Congratulations.

You got here an amazing shot with this beautiful tree filled with flowers producing a great perspective and a sense of depth with the castle in the background. Nice way to capture the stairs going all the way up. Very good composition. Love the colors contrast and POV.

Beautiful perspective of this wall climbing up the hill, surrounded by vegetation. Good resistance between the green tones and the tones of the stone, pretty background with the blue sky, and foreground very elegant and beautiful with the inclusion of this tree with the intense red colors of the autumn.

Hi Attila,
Well composed in the vertical format. I like the depth here and the way the eye is drawn upward into the frame. The brilliant autumn hues of the tree really enhances and I like the graphism of the diagonal wall rising from the crenellated tower in the foreground. This indeed seems like a magical place out of the medieval era. Very well seen and captured, Attila.

What a photo. The perspective couldn't be better. The diagonal lines of the castle wall crawling up the hill are wonderful. Also, the color added by the tree to the left is spectacular. Great saturation and exposure to control the bright light.

I like your vertical composition here starting from the bottom and the stairs drawing the eye up. The splash of red in the froeground is a nice contrast to the green and is quite eye catching. Nice and sharp.

Perfect angle to explore the POV at its best. The tree with red blossoms is well blended in and gving a nice fram for the upwinding walls and towers. It resembles a nice postcard of Marostica.

I like the way how you've composed this one...the diagonal of the castle wall as it climbs up the slope of the hill looks wonderful from this POV. The red color blossoms looks spectacular. Great colours & saturation..only would nitpick about the sky colour (just because you've set up very high standards in your photos) in this otherwise fabulous image

No, ennek a fotódnak a láttán kivirulnak még a lombjukat vesztett fák is! Micsoda színgazdagság és pompa! Fantasztikus, ahogy egymás mellé állítottad a szépségeket: a látómezőbe nyúló vörös lombokat, az erődöt és zöldellő hegyet. Ezek az összetevők annyira gazdaggá teszik a képet, hogy leginkább az impresszionista festmények ragyogásához tudnám hasonlítani.
Összefoglalva: annyira tetszik, hogy kell nekem, már teszem is a kedvenc képek közé! :-)

I like how the contrasting fortifications zigzag in the dark greens, and the bright red touch of this tree on the left is a superb bonus to this view.
