Citta'Umilissima is one of the many titles of Valletta,Malta's capital city, all recalling its rich historical past. The city was built by the Knights of St.John during the 16th century and is a masterpiece of the baroque and a World Heritage City.Valletta is named after its founder,the Grand Master of the Order of St.John,Jean Parisot de la Valette.
Valetta stands on a promontory flanked by two major harbours: Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour. On this picture you can see the second one.
The shot was taken from Ta'Xbiex,the main marina in Malta.

Excellent composition in the vertical format, with this beautiful boat in foreground framing the view to the wonderful architecture presented in the backgrouns. I love the white colour of it and its contrast with the dark blue of the water and the light blue of the sky. Very well done!

Hi Atilla.

I think you overdone the exposure, a bit shorter one would get it better. The idea is great, though, showing the town through the ropes of the boat. I'm sure the piture is much better on print than you show here on the scan.

Wonderful use of vertical format Attila. The vertical masts against the backdrop of the amgnificient buildings makes this a very effective compo. Well done!

Nice composition, Atilla. I like the white pleats of the sails on the sailing boat in the foreground, and the way this is included at an angle. The pale sails pick up the pale stone of the city skyline and contrast wonderfully with the deep blue of the sea.

Pretty composition mixes of nautical and urban landscape. The frame is perfect, with the sailboat in the wharf, the sea, and the city of Valletta in background, majestic, with a venezian aspect.
A photo with good definition, with saturated and beautiful colors, a splendid lighting, and great depth.

Great point of view here and great composition with the ship standing in front of the old city, creating a wonderful background. Good colours and nice depth in this shot.

What a great composition. The placement of the partially cropped sail boat on the side was a good choice and left plenty of room to show this impressive view. Great light and superb colors.

Szia Attila!
Elzarándokoltam a fotódhoz, tényleg hasonlít a Skeppsholmen szigeten készült képre. Sokan úgy készítenek képet Máltáról, hogy elfelejtik: ezeken a szigeteken minden a tengeré. Évszázadok óta a tenger határozza meg a hétköznapokat, az életet, na meg a mindenféle úszóalkalmatosságok. Gyönyörűen állítottad a kompozíció elő és középterébe a kikötött hajókat, a háttérben pedig Valletta fehér épületei fantasztikus látomásként jelennek meg. Magával ragadó hangulata van a képnek, csodálatos mediterrán színekkel! Ismét egy kitűnő fotó!
