Retranchement a village against the Belgian borders:, 4km of Knokke Zout
The Ramparts of Retranchement, constructed according to the former Dutch fortress system forms a natural landscape that connects many elements together, such as dikes, meadows, hedges and trees. Remnants of the forts "Orange" and "Nassau" can be found yet. About these walls lies a trail of about four-and-a-half kilometers.
In the village there is a simple Presbyterian church hall in 1630. From that time dates the pulpit. The experienced war as a result of World War II but was restored after restored the interior in 1955, in 1948.
