Photographer's Note

Perhaps building in a straight line wasn't so important back in the old days. Or maybe they didn't have the right equipment to keep things levelled. Then again, it's also possible that these windows were in a straight line when they built them. Dutch soil is infamous for its compacting under pressure. The old city center of Amsterdam was built on wooden poles for extra support. Who knows what Leiden was built on...
