Photographer's Note

Time to return to Europe. No doubt a few photos will be added to this travelogue in the future, but first attention to Europe.
To start with the Dutch province of Friesland.
Leeuwarden, the capital of Friesland, was one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2018.
"Elf Fountains was one of the important art projects of "Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, European Capital of Culture".

In each of the 11 Frisian cities was placed a fountain designed by an international renowned sculptor.
I will show some of them in the next posts.

We start with the fountain in Leeuwarden. A special fountain because instead of falling water, mist comes from the ground around the artwork.
A number of you will undoubtedly have recognized the designer of this artwork.
You can find the giant, usually flat heads of the Spanish artist Jaume Plensa anywhere in the world.
"LOVE" consists of two 7 meter high, white sculptures of a boy and a girl. They seem to be looking at each other, but their eyes are closed. The children's facial expression is serene. A cloud of fog comes out the earth around of them. "
"They dream," says Plensa, "for children, the future is a dream full of promises." The artist got his inspiration for the mist fountain when he saw the mist above the Frisian fields early in the morning. "In Friesland the water comes out of the ground," he said.
