Bergen Harbour, a photo from Hordaland, South

Photographer's Note

Bergen is a city located in the western part of Norway. It's the second largest city in Norway with its 250 000 inhabitants. Bergen is especially famous for the houses which is built in a traditional way, and the houses going up in the mountainsides.

Bryggen is probably the most famous buildings in Bergen. They're not visible here. They're placed in a line just outside this photo. These buildings are located close to the city centre of Bergen.

After a walk in Nordnes, a peninsula in Bergen, it was a nice color on the harbour when the sun was going down. It was a windy day too, therefore the blue color on the water.

God morgen Fredrik,
A bit darker exposure makes buildings in the evening light look more beautiful. Sharpness except diagonal lines of sailing boats is also so nice, especially windows.

Nice shot Frederic! The horizon is prefectly level (which means the vertical on the buildings is perfect). Rich colors and sharp detail, but I wonder if the image could use a bit of a boost to the mids to bring up some more detail in the shadows (I'll have to check on my computer at home). But overall, a great looking shot- makes me want to visit!

Very well captured! I like the symmetry formed in the picture. Also the lighting is perfect that is glowing the colorful buildings! The boats in the front are adding beauty to the over all frame!

This is very picturesque! It makes me want to visit Norway. I had no idea how beautiful the houses are there. The dark blue water looks very cold but the warm colours of the houses give it a quaint feel. You captured a magnificant shoot! Great work.

Your photo offers us its beauty under a few good light conditions and a good balance with the darkest areas, creating a good contrast.

I wish I had the possibiblity to shoot this photo in my travel to Bergen! My camera broke down just before arriving there!
I spent a wonderful holiday in Norway especially during my stay in Bergen. I like very much this photo in which the lovely and colourful old houses of the harbour are illuminated by a very warm afternoon light.
And being a sailing enthusiast I like the sight of those nice sailing boats moored along tha quay.
A very good work.

Hello Fredrik,
I really like the way the buildings along the quay and the houses on the hill catch the light and jump out of the dark forested background.
Even the sea is wonderful blue and contrasts enormous with the very dark trees.
I have been in Bergen a very long time ago but don't have such beautiful pictures as this one. My photographic skills were then even less than they are now.

molto belle queste tue foto della Norvegia, paese che ho visitato tanti anni fa e del quale conservo un bellissimo ricordo.
Mi piace questa prospettiva schiacciata per l'uso del tele che fa sembrare le case una sulle altre quasi fosse un presepe per ofgfrirsi agli occhi con i loro vivacissimi colori.
