Biertan (German: Birthälm, Hungarian: Berethalom) is a commune in central Romania, in the north of the Sibiu County, 80 km north of Sibiu and 15 km east of Mediaş.
The first documentary testimony about the village is from 1283 in a document about the taxes paid by the inhabitants of 7 villages. It is one of the most important Saxon villages with fortified churches in Transylvania, having been on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1993. It was the seat of the Lutheran Evangelical Bishop in Transylvania between 1572 and 1867.

Hello Attila, beautiful framing of this strengthened church dominating Berethalom, this small parcau foreground is ideally placed like line of prospect in the composition, emphasized well with a beautiful luminosity, some scattered tree and the quite green vegetation supplement the landscape elegantly, a soft light wraps this peaceful place well j' appreciate here also the hot keys of the frontages of the buildings, sincerely .................Hello Attila, beau cadrage de cette église fortifiée dominant Berethalom, ce petit parc au premier plan est idéalement placé comme ligne de perspective dans la composition,

A very good composition, a good POV and beautiful soft colours. It looks like a very beautiful fortified church.
I wanted to visit Biertan but have missed it.
Instead I went to Viscri where there's also a very interesting fortified church of which I have posted a picture a while ago.

Nice shot of this great architecture. Your composition and POV are fine. The open area in front of the church is a nice build up for the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Quite an interesting building this fortified church, we have some around here too, they are fortified with thuck walls but do not come close to a castle like this one, I like the soft PP that gives a somewhat ancient feeling to this modern view.

The mild colours are really beautiful here.

Ciao Attila e ben tornato! Se la prima foto che posti del tuo viaggio in Romania e' cosi', allora posso dedurre che sia andato davvero bene.
Ben scelto il punto di ripresa che da aria alla composizione, con la vista sul parchetto (?) che poi ci guida alla chiesa che ben si staglia contro il cielo blu. Ottima come sempre la qualita' del tutto e...un unica domanda..aver utilizzato un pola invece che un UV?

Great choice of subject and wonderful, warm colors. I envy you for being able tio reach Biertan, I did't have the time to go there to (was in Sibiu the week-end 6-8 juin for the theater festival). where you there for the same reason?

Szégyellem, de eddig még nem hallottam a berethalmi erődtemplomról. Pedig milyen szép!
A képed nagyon tetszik, jól néz ki a robosztus, tornyos templom, fölémagasodva ennek a kis hangulatos élettel teli térnek.
Tudod, hogy inkább az élénkebb színvilágú képeket szeretem, ezért küldtem egy ws-t. Remélem nem bánod!
