About 12 km northeastern from Postojna is situated Predjamski grad (The Cave Castle). It is one of the most visited castles in Slovenia. Castle was built-up into the ovehanging rock apparently accessible from just one side.
Today’s castle dates from the Renaissance.
Historical sources prove that the castle existed in the 13th century and probably even earlier. It was administered by the Jamski family. After the Jamski family, the castle was taken over by Adam Purgstaller, while from 1567 onwards it was home to the Kobenzl family, who had it renovated. The last noble owners, from 1846 to 1945, were the counts of Windischgrätz, who altered the castle’s external appearance.

Bonjour mon ami Attila,
Bravo !
Amitiés.

Hi Atilla.
Thank you for showing this part of Slovenia, Karst or Kras as it is called here in Slovenia. The photo is taken from a nice angle, I enjoy it so much. I've never been there, unlike PixelTerror and you and I could be there in just one hour if I wish. Your photo maybe conviced me that I should go there.
take care, Aleks

Szia Attila!

Hi Attila,
This frame shows a spectacular castle to us, constructed on the rock. Caught well, in addition, the presence of people allows us to appreciate its dimensions.
The diagonals of the terrace and garden give a good geometry to the set, and the great rock wall where the castle is located is impressive. Good touch of color in this very gray image thanks to people and the flowers.
Well done.

Josep

Hi Attila,
What an interesting historic place. It remind me a lot of a Monastery (Sumela) that I visited in Turkey, because of the curious way it is melted with the rocky cliff. Good shot from a distance in a very good composition. The perspective is well chosen, with this passway leading to the scene.
Friendly regards,

Hi Attila
I could only look at this picture for a longtime, amazed at the setting of this castle. This is quite unbelievable! What pains the people would have taken to construct such a building is such an inaccessible locale. Apart from your excellent POV, the inclusion of the sitting girls & the colourful flowers add a lot of interest..thanks for sharing this, friend

Wonderful image this one! The house and the way it was built, looks like it was built from this rock. Great POV with this path leading to the house. The people we see adds a lot to your image giving us the sense of height of this building. Nice colours and light on this one.

Hi Szili
This building looks almost unreal. I had to look very closely for a while, as I thought it was a model playhouse until I noticed the two women on the right. A very nice capture and place in a dramatic location. Nice colour texture and good presentation. Good work.

Szia Atus!

Lenyűgöző, milyen bravúrokra voltak képesek a régi mesterek! Ebben a fényben szépen érvényesül a kastély, jól elválik a szikláktól. A képet a kis kert színei és a lányok teszik derűssé.
