Photographer's Note

How many red bricks were used in constructing the unusual Castillo Colomares (Colomares Castle) is anybody's guess. This masterpiece of Byzantine, Roman, Gothic and Mudejar architecture pays homage to Christopher Columbus and his discovery of America. Full of steps, arches, colonnades and spires, it stands on the hill that runs between Benalmadena Pueblo and the coastal zone of the Costa del Sol, Spain.
