Rising shadows Photo

Photographer’s Note

As the last rays of light heat the walls of the Royal Palace in Alhambra, the shadows of the past arise.

The shadows belong to the tourists that fill up the corridors of Alhambra everyday.

For a more conventional photo showing the intricate stonework of Alhambra, see WS2. I'm sure many of you would prefer this one as the main picture but I was in the mood for something more abstract.

I finally manage to post another photo here after dealing with more internet issues. A heavy storm left me without phone and internet during 10 days and although everything is working again, the speed of navigation is not so good. That's one of the problems of living in the countryside...

Eu à espera de umas fotos de caminhadas na Sierra e aparece-me esta abstração :-)
Não faz mal, ficou muito interessante.
O WS2 é claro que é muito interessante para ver esses detalhes. Mas como é algo já tão mostrado, acho que fizeste bem em deixar em WS.

Se calhar o problema não é só ser no campo. Acho que há coisas que funcionam muito bem em Portugal, acima da média em relação a outros países. Por exemplo, acho que internet, telemóveis e cartões bancários funcionam muito melhor em Portugal do que na Holanda.

criativa maneira de escapar do allambra em si mesmo e captar outras vistas. gostei da criatividade da foto, bem feita e bem enquadrada, boa a suavidade das cores. bem feito. Fui ao allambra 2 vezes, numa estavam fechando e não entramos e na outra entrei, contudo confesso que eu já havia visto tantos arabescos no porto, em zaragoza e em sevilha que uma parte do encanto do alhambra havia se perdido. não que eu não tenha gostado, mas o impacto foi menor. não é atoa que muitas vezes um local ou monumento desconhecido nos causa mais assombro que estes já tão mostrados em fotos. fico imaginando quantos moradores de granada nunca visitaram o allambra, devem ser muitos, tal qual cariocas que nunca foram ao redentor..

There you are!! Welcome back.
There isn't a great difference between this and the sepia version, as the colours are that tone anyway. WS2 is stunning showing beautiful, intricate detail. It is not a case of preferring that one as both images are totally different. (It's like comparing the Mona Lisa with Picasso's Weeping Woman ;D) This one is the kind of image I like to see and wish I could make myself. It's verging on Korkut's style, which I admire greatly. The diagonal is a strong feature of the image and that is what makes it work so well. Very well seen.

this is strange - i do not find this photo being extremely "sophisticated", yet - it does appeal to me, and it pleases my eyes very much...

i think it's a sort of a "new way" of seeing the things....

Y menuda foto para el reencuentro! Me gusta tu mirada creativa sobre estas sombras y cómo has jugado con ellas y con la diagonal de la línea del suelo que las dobla hacia la pared, creando un bonito grafismo geométrico, bajo una gran luminosidad.
El resultado es magnífico, y los WS's complementan este buen trabajo, junto a la nota informativa.
Bella realización, muy bien vista.

Bonito e criativo trabalho com as sombras, a composição ficou muito interessante. Prefiro a original do que a versão em sépia. Ótimos detalhes do Palácio de Alhambra, uma magnífica obra de arte em arquitetura e decoração.

This is a grate picture, I like so much the idea, the inetresting effect in the shadow and the color of the wall this gives more life to the image. VEry interesting idea, looks subrealistic and very modern picture, many of your pciture can he hanging in a modern art museum really.

This thurday I will be in Cancun, I hope I can get a nice picture and I just back from my odissey tri driving al the Baja California Peninsula I will post some pictures and I will be waitting for your crittic

Lovely composition with these shadows, who knock their heads against the wall. I hope you don’t mind, but I did made a WS with a closer framing.
