Night before race start (III): Etoile Photo

Photographer’s Note

I am continuing my walk along the piers, the night before the race started: here, the two French Navy schooners, Etoile in the foreground, and Belle Poule in the foreground (their relative positionning will be more visible in workshop 2). I also post a vertical framing of the same point of view in workshop 1.
I tried sailing with them, but unfortunatly there were few places for civilians like me, and I was a bit to old to get a free bunk (and I had also probably enough moneuy to afford to pay my passage on another ship). This is how I found myself on the Tecla...

Hi Emmanuel,
Dim, reddish street light create special ambience on this harbour view. All the ropes and ladders show clearly against the dark sky. Nice, peaceful moment before the action begins.

A superb night shot...a tripod is vital when you take shots like this...minor nitpick is the cut off bow, but otherwise I love this one with lovely hues of artificial lights...
