Burgos... a wide view of the city Photo

Photographer’s Note

Look the stairs in the left side and also look this link.

And look again the link: the photo was made there, on the stairs. I used the 12-24mm and, as you can see, I was unable to take a wider view. And that means this photo has something special (as you can see this one is much more wider).

What?
I don't remember how many, but there are close 20 pictures stitched.

The light was bad, sorry, but that day was not the best one and I made my best.

And the place is the little square in front the cathedral, in Burgos.
Also you can see another gothic church and another building (in the stairs) where the "Celestina" was printed for first time (the "Celestina" is one of the most important in the Spanish language).

You complain about the light, but I think it is absolutely not bad here... good stitching job, only in the sky there are some strange patterns but maybe they are natural.

Quitando que la catedral ha quedado un poco achatada en o que podríamos denominar una blasfemia al gótico, la amplitud de la imagen lo compensa.

Hola Carlos,
ja comences a fer uns stitchs amb moltes fotos, a l'estil de l'amic Didi. Aquesta vista de la Catedral de Burgos amb l'angle aconseguit amb l'ensamblatge és impressionant, i malgrat la lògica distorsió provocada per aquesta tècnica, el resultat té una gran força d'atracció visual.
M'agrada l'equilibri entre la llum i les ombres.

Hola Carlos.
El conjunto con las casas y la catedral es muy atractivo, pues ciertamente el rincon es especial, pero el gran angular no favorece nada a la esbelta fachada de la catedral, el resto de la composicion queda realmente bien, buen manejo de la luz creando un buen ambiente entre luces y sombras.

Buen trabajo con cerca de 20 fotos unidas, creo que trabajaste bien en unirlas pero quizás un pelin de mas luz hubiera sido positivo. De todas maneras creo que ha valido el esfuerzo.

Muy bella ciudad, muy bella foto! Gran encuadre y composicion, me gustan las distorsiones del "stiching", y el manejo de la luz, has "equilibrado" muy bien las partes bien iluminadas con las en sombra!

You play very well with light and shadows.
Absolutely not easy picture for take, through this light.
12-24 is a very wide angle lens, gives lovely picture as landscape.
I find your picture very nice; pleasant for look at.
Splendid detailed image, amazing colours too.

Hola Carlos,
Tu eres aun mas radical que yo en los collages! Y como yo, veo que utilizas focales curtas. Pero me admira que necesites de tantas fotos con esas focales curtas; yo las utilizo porque soy perezoso para collar muchas imágenes. No voy a implicar con las distorsiones - sé como son inevitables con este angulo tan abierto y además me gustan y me admira como lo conseguiste que no fueran mucho mas acentuadas. Aunque que la luz no fuera la mas adecuada, hiciste un buen trabajo en manejarla. Por fin, te congratulo por el cielo - se es verdad que tiene algunas manchas, en general quedo muy bien, lo que no es nada fácil. Tengo que volver a visitar Burgos, de las dos veces que lo hice pasé muy poco tiempo ahí.

Well, Carlos, I like very much this very wide view. Splendid work with the stitching using almost as much photos as Didi... ;-) The lines on the ground give a nice sense of space and perspective but my favorite detail goes to that last light of the day on top of the cathedral. Thanks for showing all this context around the famous monument, something that never shows up on photos from here.

Es interesante como manejas y equilibras aquí en esta foto la intensidad de las sombras y sacas un rédito muy importante de la luz . La panorámica es muy buena .

Difficult to manage, due to the strong light contrast, but you found a good balance. The sunny pinnacles of the cathedral are really beautiful.
The huge stitch has been successfull.
I would have cut the building on the right, that is, architecturally different.
But the picture is very good.

En toda su ampplitud!!

Has conseguido una gran panorámica en base a un gran trabajo de "stitch", sí tiene esas cosas de las panorámicas...pero el resultado es impactante y nos ayuda a integrar La Catedral (con mayúsculas) en su entorno, algo muy importante!!

Más de uno tendrá ganas de ir a verla en directo...yo desde luego tengo ganas de volver..

hermosa vista de la famosa catedral. me gusta este punto de vista lejano, las diagonales de la calle se abrindo para mostrar la hoya de la arquitetura. muy preciosa esta luz que hace la catedral mas hermosa aún. bien hecho, congratulaciones

Me gusta el aspecto daliniano de la foto, en la que casi no hay líneas rectas. La plaza tiene un aspecto impresionante aunque quizás la catedral ha quedado un poco roma, sin que se puedan apreciar sus impresionantes agujas. Aunque para ello ya está la otra foto que tienes en el enlace y que me encanta. En fín, buen trabajo y desde luego bien currado con esas veinte fotos unidas para dar este resultado.
