Photographer’s Note

The tower of the old citadel of Tossa de Mar, a pretty town on Catalonian Costa Brava. Founded originally by the Romans, Tossa has twelfth-century walls surrounding an old quarter, the Vila Vella, a maze of cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and flower boxes, slowly climbing the headland and offering terrific views over beach and bay. At the top you'll find the nineteenth-century Far de Tossa, now home to an innovative exhibition on Mediterranean lighthouses. Just below here, not far from the ruins of the town's fifteenth-century Gothic church, stands a statue of Ava Gardner, who made the town famous in the 1950 film, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman.

Hi Alexander,

very good work with exposure in this shot. The building looks so vivid and the definition is superb. I also like to see the natural framing provided by the arch. Great job!

Hello Alexander,

A well framed view to the tower and the wall!
The stairs make a fine lead-in as it also creates a nice diagonal in the composition...
I notice the special colours of the structure are contrasting well with the blue sky!

you must have arms of steel, 1/2 sec and still razor sharp, I'm very impressed :) love the composition, the layers of curves and angles look great and create a strong sense of depth, while the golden colours make the buildings look as if made of gols. nice one :)

The colours here are pure magic! Somehow tones of lamps, colours of stones and interpretation on camera make a wonderfully saturated result of warm orange tones against blue evening sky.
Excellent composition too with round and diagonal elements.

Lovely composition and nice blue hour capture. The mix of lights and shadows takes a little work to understand (combination of sunlight and artificial light), but makes a very nice presentation. Nice steady hand, too!

A nicely pleasant photo here, very well technicaly managed for the exposure setting. The photo is well balanced so that the contrast of colors between the orange areas and the blue sky is working well.
