Photographer’s Note
This is my second post of this fascinating museum. Besides my first post, I have also a WS of this place.
The painting on the wall is as famous as it is puzzling, as perception of the viewer changes with the distance from the canvas. When seen closely, we can devise the figure of a naked woman seen from behind in front of a not so clear sea view with an yellow and orange sky surrounded by rectangles. If we move farther, it becomes a blurred face and if we move even farther it starts resembling the face of the Abraham Lincoln. Its long and unusual title tells us about that effect: "Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea Which at Twenty Meters Becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln - Homage to Rothko". You can read about the technique used in this article, which has a photo of the painting that features both the close-up vision and the "seen from the distance" vision.
WS: Closer view of the painting.
The rest of the note is copied from my previous post.
Salvador Dalí doesn't need any presentation and I guess the same goes to this fascinating Teatre-Museu Dali located in his birth town, which was designed in great part by him. It occupies the theatre where he made his first first public exhibitions. The building was bombed during the Spanish Civil War and it was rebuilt to house the museum, which opened in 1974.
Dali's tomb is in the basement, despite he wanted to be buried next to his wife Gala, in the nearby castle of Púbol, where she lived the last years of her life.

Hello Jose -
Interesting painting to say the least. Dali painted some strange stuff in his life time, IMO a bid on the weird side. A nice photo Jose which is well balanced and excellent light management.
Thank you for sharing.

Dali is not exactly my cup of tea, but I can't deny the genius of some of his work. Now I have seen the WS, I can also make out the naked woman on this one further away, just as I can also see Abraham Lincoln in the closer view in the WS. Just as surreal is the naked man holding up the drapes. Is the window tilted inwards, or is it WA distortion or even your artistic licence? Whatever your artistic taste it must be an interesting place to visit.

yeah, cool, just visited the dali museum in st. petersburg (florida) not too long ago; my visit to
this special place in figueres was in 1989, so i do not remember too much anymore. that is why i enjoy
this capture very much, love the architecture and the representation of dali´s work.
great job & best wishes, thor.

Jean-Charles

Jose, fine and appropriate shot for the master artist. Just looking at the room it appears like one of his works and the lines are very abstract as opposed to angular. Nice work.

Hi Jose, you are displaying the hidden treasures of the neighbouring country. This one is so stylish with your excellent use of 10-20, which harmonizes the beauty of art and geometry. Congratulations, Tolga

Olá José,
A imagem anterior, tão interessante, me remeteu a esta, igualmente surpreendente.

Dear Jose
That's a great place and a very fitting museum for Salvatore Dali. There is so much light, what he most probably would had loved! Good composition including the visitors what had a lot the atmosphere. Sharpness and colors looks fine. Due to the huge glass wall, DOF is excellent. Well done
best regards
