Photographer’s Note

It is summertime, and this Costa Blanca is holding its arms wide open to pierce, err... recieve, flocks of tourists.

Early in the morning some not very motivated workers were setting up deckchairs and sunshades on the beach. As walking can be quite strenuous -especially when on a hangover- they have developed a highly sophisticated method: they throw each sunshade onto a deckchair using "javelin technique": the on-target ratio is not really good (about 33%) but the "javelin" flies as far as 15 metres.

A jawdropping display of Spanish culture, which the anthropologists among the beachgoers will certainly want to study in depth in case they do not get pierced by a flying sunshade.

Hello Olaf,
You shot the right moment. At first, i noticed the graphism made by the main lines and the uniformity of cojours, but then when taking care, i noticed sunshades every where. With your nice note i find the situaion a little crazy and the scne nice to see. I like it!

Una foto muy divertida. Has estado muy atento al momento exacto en que la sombrilla salió volando. Curiosa técnica de recoger sombrillas.

Me llama la atención que la línea del horizonte sea prácticamente imperceptible.

Interesting capture! It is good that water and sky are low-key allowing for the bright fabric to glow.

Pero lo tuyo no eran los trenes??? Bromas a parte, el toque de la sombrilla voladora le da originalidad a la composición hamaquera... que pereza de playas.
