Watching the ferries go Photo

Photographer’s Note

A warm day in May I took a long walk around central Stockholm while waiting for a train. I came all the way out on Kastellholmen (Castle Island) that once was fortified to block the inlet. In the rock slope in the sun I found those two guys enjoying the view of the harbour inlet and the ferry terminal for the Viking Line on the other side. Viking is one of the operators that runs ferries between Sweden and Finland.

Ebbe, this is a very relaxed picture. Looks like a perfect place to enjoy the lunch-break at work (or to wait for the train, indeed). Unfortunately I have to stick with an ugly road with rushing cars.

I don't think the two guys in front really does anything for the photo, in my opinion you should have been much closer to them, but that would proably mean that you should have done the big smile, nice guy introduction ala manny via jrj.
As it is right now I can't help thinking "what did he want to photograph?" the image looks empty.

Tranquil capture Ebbe. Just to ferries and two people and a lot of water....and it works. Fine job.

Two nice ships. Big for a mountain guy.I like the 2 guys on the bottom looking these ships. it seems that the colours are a bit pale.

It's a beautiful spot, Ebbe, (I think I've been there, during my training in Stockholm) and a beautiful view. These ferries are really impressive. It's also impressive that this is shot in central Stockholm, so I like that you include so much of the rocks, which to me represent the archipelago. Nice job!
