The building in the background is a fortified castle, built towards the end of the 19th century.The castle walls dominate the village of Pontresina. The windows provide a magnificent view over the Roseg valley to the glaciers of the Bernina mountain chain.
Now it is used as a hotel.

The composition of this is excellent with the partially frozen river leading us to the castle. The texture of the snow is very nice with the long shadows giving an extra effect. Very nice indeed!

the place here is beutiful.

Szia Attila!
Na, hát kivadásztam, hogy ez a Hotel Walther, szezonon kívül (de itt olyan nincs is!) 500 franktól már adnak egy szerényebb szobát. (Igazából azért néztem meg, hogy lássam, ott van-e már ez a kép a galériájukban. De nem. Szerintem hálásak lennének érte, mert ez magasan felülmúlja a készletet.) Jól esik egy kis luxus az afrikai képeid után. Olyan szépnek láttatod a telet, hogy kezdem már nem utálni - annyira.

Great shot !
Not so easy to take a picture with he light of the snow and you managed it as you did for the pov.
I spent a lot of winter teaching x-country there at the foot of this building : excellent souvenirs.
