Hello Friends,

Well,You see the roof of Iran ! Damavand peak.

Location: 35.951°N , 52.109°E
Altitude : 18,602 feet (5671m)
Adjacent peak(s) : Vararoo,Sesang,Golezard,Mianrood
Range/Region: Middle Alborz Mountains
Nearest major town: Larijan
Distance from Tehran: 66(km)
Best Climbing Months: July,August,September
Year First Climbed : 1837
Most Recent Eruption : None on record

A dormant volcano with a narrow summit, visible From many kilometers away, thought it is surrounded on every side by the peaks and ridges of the Albroz.

Damavand is the highest peak in Iran and the highest volcano in the Middle East. The mountain and its surrounding areas are popular hiking, climbing, and skiing destinations.

It is not surprising that such a prominent mountain should figure in the national epic of Iran.Written around 1000AD, the great Iranian poet,Ferdowsi , relates in his epic (Shah'nameh) how the tyrant Zohak is overthrown by the young Feridun and imprisoned in chains to die in a cavern on the slops of Damavand.
Local legend asserts that his groans may still be heard on this slopes!

Also, the mountain is the traditional scene of the feats performed by such legendary heroes of ancient Persia as Rustam and Faridun,it was immortalized in the great epic poem the Shahnameh.

***

The shot was not very sharp,I did some small pp like USM on the peak,to adjust the contrast and a bit colors(it's real,in the sunset time),and also used a bit NI,although some scratch from the glass are visible, anyway,I hope you accept this, but I will send another sharp one in next days(just better than this:) that is captured in morning time when I was returning to Tehran).

Thanks,
M

The composition is great. But the details in the mountain seems to be a bit overly sharpened. I think with less sharpen this is an awesome shot.

Hi Mohammad,
Great composition. Nice mountain floating in the blue. Good texture of the ice. Very beautiful soft light.
Very well done.
Leonor

It is possible that it is not very sharp - although to my eyes it is (sharp) - but it is, truly, beautiful!!!. Rich colors and very good framing. I like it a lot. The note is outstanding. Congratulations, John.

Hi Mohammad,
Very strange light, this impressive big red clouds above top of Iran!
Nicely framed.
Regards,
Didier

Sharpness isn't critical here, Mohammad, it's the forms and colors that make this one truly beautiful! Outstanding composition. Regards, Ken.

I have seen many photos from Damavand but this one is unique.

This is another wonderful shot from my favorite photographer.

I can't make any technical comment to the photo.
I sense it's useless cause it's perfect for me
I would rather write a poem for this photo.

***Loneliness***

Hearing the whispers around
Looking for someone.
Knowing you are alone.
Fear inside your vessels, knowing that it will last forever.

Feel The Loneliness inside
Try to find your destiny within
Shadows walk around you.
But nothing inside them.

Be strong to fight with Loneliness
Can take your soul when u are weak
So hard to dare.
However u must survive.

Merhaba Muhammed
Excellent work.

Hi Mohammad - Wow what a play with colours you captured here - the change of tones truly wonderful to watch - Thanks for sharing this lovely catch with us - I like it very much - a favorite.

I Noticed you where having problem with sharpness of this photo. I wonder if we have the same 20D problem.

When I try shot landscape can I only get a sharp horizon if I zoom in first, press half down, zoom out and the shot.
If I try to focus without zooming the focus will be around 3 meters and Ill never get a sharp image - Quite confusing to get home with bad images, wonder if your facing the same problems.

Have a nice weekend
Yours
J

Hi Mohammad,
It looks like a painting. Amazing red in the sky and the vulcano disappearing into nothing.
great work.

You do not tell it in your note but I guess the picture was taken from a plane. If the mountain is so close to Tehran, the plane was probably flying low approaching the airport.
This photo remembers me one I took from the over the Alps in Switzerland. The major difficulty in the PP was to eliminate the grey tone that the airplane window and the air caused. You solved it here with charm and at the end you have an nice picture with these stripes in the sky. Perhaps a little problem in the post-procesing was that there appears some pixelitation. Volcanos are very impressive because they are normally isolated from other peaks and are nice to photograph. So you choosed a good subject, probably after waiting for your chance in a beautiful morning.

Hi Mohammad,
How are you doing? I haven't been to your portfolio in a while. What an amazing photo! Very special, with the red color that seems irrelevant to the mountain. Beautiful...
Best,
Maya

Hi, my friend Mohammad !
Geological features are very popular on TE today ! this volcano is quite perfectly conic, and your composition is just great.. Great management of light and colors and superb atmosphere. Thanks for the very good note.
Regards.

This picture gives a very serene mood with the soft colours above, what a beautiful landscape and captured very, very well, dear friend !

Colors are here a feast Mohammad, the soft gradiants and the contrasting pastels of the pink to the blue dominating sky and snowy mountain is really the eyepuller here, maybe the sharpening was not so explicit necessairy here. A great powerfull shot.

Excellent shot Mohammad, the colors are marvelous but the most important thing for me is that I can find a balance in the frame that relax me a lot, it has a painting quality (due to the colors) that keeps you seing the photo for quite a time. Among your best.

Dear Mohammad,
you have a great portfolio!
My first approach is this one! I have to say that the colours are so attractive as well as the framing. The photographer's success depends a lot on how much affluent is the field of action. In your case this field is really rich! Wonderful places!
I think that you should have used a tripod for the shutter speed is slow. Nevertheless the whole atmosphere is quite good for me!
Thank you very much for sharing.
Greetings from Greece,
Athanasios.
