Nemrut Dag (Mt Nemrud) is a mountain of 2,150m height. It is located near the village of Karadut in Kahta county in the remote province of Adiyaman. During 80 B.C.-72 A.D., the Kommagene Kingdom reigned on the lands in that region. The God and the King Statues and reliefs are the remains of the Tumulus and Hierothesion of King Antioches I of Kommanege, who reigned during 69-36 B.C. These remains were discovered in 1881 by a German road construction engineer, Karl Sester. These were restored in 1984 and the region was declared a National Park in 1989. The remains are on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
It is a long journey, followed by a steep walk to go from the car park to the ruins. Due to the altitude it is much colder at the summit than where you started from, even on a warm sunny day but is one most inspiring places in the world with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the Euphrates River.

Szia Attila!

Szia Attila,
This seems an image from a strange world, very good scan and color rendering of this awsome place, despite having nobody next to them to give scale we feel these heads must be quite huge (and heavy !)
Have a nice sunday JY

Szia Attila!

Veramente originale, bravo.

Hi Attila,
These huge stone heads are impressive, they attract our look for its magnificent graphism and its expressive strength, in a well select and very balanced framing.
The luminosity and the colors are very good, and there is a good contrast of tones between the ground, the stone and the sky.
Great work, and well scanned, my friend.
Best regards,

Gran bel lavoro!
Ciao,

Szia Atus!
Régen nem jártam erre felé. Ennek fő oka, hogy jó sokat csavarogtam. Most éppen fél évet barangoltam Indiában és Nepálban.
