The Icefields Parkway, between Banff and Jasper, is a popular place! Look closely at the height of the glacial moraine either side of the U-shaped valley, and you can get an idea of just how much ice has disappeared over time: scary!!

Nicely framed, to show the giants bus dwarfed by the mountains :)
You should now try to imagine that the whole valey was covered in a glacier 150 years ago, and 100years ago the road still could not be built just yet... There are markings on the vally floor ot the Athabasca Glacier to the left that shows the glacier receeded more in 10 years than in the 50 before that.
Global warming is nowhere as visible than around glaciers, because the effects are visible within a lifespan.
