witam George,
happy birthday to Canada! a country I hope to visit somewhere in time.
I absolutely love his expression...half surprised, half "not caring".
black and white is once again THE CHOICE to draw our eyes to his act and expression...and...as far as the multiple roots of this musician is concerned...you are right quoting " my country, my people, my streets"
ciao
Silvio
Doesn't look very happy George, those rather sad eyes and the down turned lips - does his mum make him practice too much!
Typical, soul searching eye contact we come to expect from you. But I must admit his bow does look a little menacing!
1pm in the afternoon here in UK and the sun has just come out - off to sit in the garden with a cold beer!
Cheers, Roberto
Jezusiczku, jakie piekne, jakie mocne...
Bebechy porusza, mozg lasuje...
Gdy widze takie zdjecie, to az wstyd mi, ze ja tylko sie bawie i zabawiam fotkami...
Jurek...
Morda ogromna.
Grazyna.
4 halves makes 2 George - even little Patrick here looks like he does well enough in his mathematics class to be able to tell you that!
I like this in your face approach using the wide-angle (careful - he could have your eye out with that violin bow), although he does look a bit scared. Never mind, it adds to the charm of the portrait.
Good stuff - I like this.
Cheers,
Ben

Very moving, a bit sad it seems to me... I like the whole composition but I'd like to know why ?
Is the little Patrick one of those destitute boys playing in the streets for money and waiting for you to contribute ? Probably not !!!
Or is he a future virtuoso, practicing in the streets (because of his teacher or parents), a good exercice to learn not to be distracted and to concentrate on the sad tune and carry on playing even when a strange G.G. is playing with his camera around ?
Please excuse my curiosity...
A lovely photo, in any case !
Compliments,
Best,
Katarzyna

Powodzenia!
Pieknie JUrku :)
z pozdrowieniami, agn.

Dear George,
The continuation to search perfection ; Henryk Wieniawski's moods are well seen here.. and the boy in image in this mighty world visions that truth.
The quote is truth said..My Country, my people, my streets.
You make us draw our eyes to the music.
jp
Syna mi to przypomina, w trudnej chwili.
Oj Panie Polonezie ! Igrasz z ogniem.
Pozdrawiam

But what a wonderful music, George. And what a wonderful pic. But sad, sad, sad. Poor Patrick. I love, I love his big eyes and his sad face. Anyway, I feel like him. No scherzo. No tarantelle. Just sad.
Ciao. Take care. And try to be happy. You.
A.P.

Oh, that face! So plaintive, like a beagle hoping for table scraps--he seems right on the verge of tears. The in-your-face POV is great. I hope his life isn't really as sad as he looks.
Of course, what YOU probably liked was his fully erect violin bow.
Have a great weekend, regards, Ken.

I w ogóle pozdrawiam serdecznie T.

Hi George,
Wonderful! Nice shallow depth of focus and you show us hoe you make something different of a children's photograph. ;-)
The diagonal of the street, the idea of bypassers in the distance. Life is passing by in the streets, but how's life passing for this boy? No idea. No need to feel sorry, without knowing the story.
Greetings!
Dennis

pozdr. j.

Hi George,
there is only one problem regarding your post and my words: my english is not good enough to write you what I think about this portrait. Ok, the silly words from a brazilian with broken english: I love his look. The glasses and his lips complete his expression. An inspiration for me. I really mean that. Great job!
Regards,
Carlos
